a bummer summer

ever since my summer break began, i..

1.) can’t seem to stop myself from killing my innards with excessive amounts of fat. goodbye to all the ‘pumayat ka ah!’ remarks. lol.
2.) can’t help but deprive my biological clock of sleep. i now usually sleep around 3 in the morning. it’s a good thing for someone whose lone study habit is procrastination. unfortunately, school’s out.
3.) turned my laptop into a (huge) portable DVD player. what am i supposed to do with it, type papers?
4.) have been thinking of a lot of creative ways to get out of the house, seeing that i did not take any classes for the summer term. it’s a good thing my blocmates saved me from possible death by boredom – very cliche, may i add – a day ago. an afternoon of DQ delight and DVD hunting.
5.) have been thinking a lot. most especially about my career path and course direction. my sister is graduating with honors this coming april 27 and now the pressure is on me. well, i don’t really sense it, since my parents already saw that one of their offspring graduated from UP, with an accounting degree to boot. i could drop from SE and they wouldn’t notice a thing.

just to update this forsaken wasteland of pointless rants. haha.

sm fairview escapades. this semester, i have rediscovered the delights of the SM nearest my house. haha. i always tag along (or ask her to tag along) with my blocmate to have a GoNut cupcake or browse for classic films. we even stayed their when classes were suspended due to a transport strike (out of our silliness, we waved at every bus that gave free rides to our fellow students passing by the university theater).

Mass Communicators Organization KiddieQ. the Qtest, Qlest quiz show on campus. first org event for the semester: entertainment quiz show with a kiddie theme. while trillanes and company was busy trying to voice out their sentiments in an unordinary fashion, we were entertaining an overwhelming number of participants. too bad i wasn’t able to finish the event because i had to watch the last run of our high school’s annual play. (as usual, the ‘tumaba ka!’ comments were present.)

18th birthday. nothing special, just spent the afternoon with my study group barkada at the ubiquitous isawan. my professor even greeted me. it so happened that our first meeting fell on my birthday, he was asking for pertinent details in the index card we were supposed to submit next meeting, and my classmate chided me. haha.

i’ll follow this up tomorrow. trying to lengthen this narrative by a vague recount of numerous activities this past weeks might bore you to death.

so the regular updates are not working.

except for the two-hour validation of my Form 5a and Form 5 release, enrolment was a breeze. thanks to the hassle-free enlistment in the film department + CRS powers, i got 20 units with no PE. i’m fine with that, i’m going to die with all the papers, reports and fieldwork anyways.

art stud 1. art and society (l o p e z) ‘what is art?’ as simple at the question may seem, all of us in class are dumbfounded. idagdag mo pa ang ‘why does the word exist in the first place?’

psych 195. industrial psychology (m a t t i s o n) first time the department offered the course. the application of psychology to the work setting caught my interest, so i took it even if it means being classmates with seniors.

econ 102. microeconomics (k r a f t) she surely knows her budget lines and indifference curves. good thing she cracks some jokes (albeit corny) whenever i feel the urge to doze off. haha.

pan pil 17. panitikan at kulturang popular. (g o n z a l e s) my breathing space for this semester. the prof is funny, the class is warm. cool.

econ 101. macroeconomics (q u i m b o) we’ve already finished 2 lectures in micro and still no sign of her since our first meeting.

film 104. film genres (b a u m g a r t e l) english mode na ‘to. looking forward to his views on the independent film industry and animation.

btw, thanks to those people who remembered. (RV, ayaw pa maniwala. haha.) being 18 is no big deal. oo, legal nga. ano naman gagawin ko sa legal?! haha.
